I didn’t grow up dreaming of building decks — but somewhere between swinging a hammer and dodging splinters, this side hustle grew into something bigger.
I’m Blake Haven, founder of Deck Pros of Tennessee. With over 30 years of experience in construction and project management, I’ve worked on everything from small home improvements to large-scale commercial builds. But this business? It’s personal. It’s where skill meets passion — and where weekend projects turned into a full-time mission.
Deck Pros began as a word-of-mouth gig — just a few backyard builds for friends and neighbors. But with each project, one thing became clear: people weren’t just looking for a deck. They were looking for someone they could trust. Someone who’d show up, do it right, and stand by the work long after the job was done.
That’s exactly what we do.
Today, we design and build custom decks, pergolas, pavilions, and outdoor living spaces — but we also bring the same craftsmanship to roofs, siding, and gutters. After all, your outdoor space is only as good as the home it’s connected to. We use top-quality materials built for Tennessee weather, and we pride ourselves on results that last — whether it’s a backyard upgrade or a full exterior remodel.

Every brand needs a face. Ours just happens to have a beard, a toolbelt, and a black cap with a flag on it.
When I realized Deck Pros had grown from a side hustle into a real business with momentum, I knew it was time to think bigger. Not just about the work — but about the brand. I didn’t want to be just another contractor. I wanted something people would remember.
That’s where the Deck Pros Guy came in.
He’s a character — but he’s based on the real me.
Same hat. Same beard. Same work boots and hammer. Same no-nonsense attitude when it comes to doing things the right way.
But more than that, he’s a voice for the brand.
You’ll see him in our ads, on the side of our trailers, in Facebook posts, and even in a few “Uncle Larry” disaster rescues. He helps us share real stories, teach a few lessons, and have a little fun along the way — because not every deck story needs to be dry and boring.
